General Editor - Geoffrey Grigson. Published for the Festival of Britain Office in 1951. Each volume gives details of the region's scenery, monuments, buildings, natural history, people and their work and characteristics. Each book begins with a coloured title page by an artist such as Kenneth Rowntree or Barbara Jones.

Hardback books with illustrated boards generally in good condition. Ends of spine and corners bumped. Top edges of text blocks sunned. Owner's name in ink on title page of one volume.

Dust jackets generally in fair condition (volumes 3 and 6 do not have dust jackets - the images on the illustrated boards are the same as those on the dustjacket). Ends of spines and corners bumped and chipped. Top edges worn with tears. Spines and fore edges worn to various degrees. Some are price clipped.

Oxfam Books & Music Berkhamsted

Located in the centre of the historic market town, we are open seven days a week. You will find a wide and interesting range of stock, including a great selection of children's books, popular and classical music on vinyl and CD, vintage Penguins and other paperbacks, and quirky and collectable items. Our stock is selected by knowledgeable volunteers, catering for both general readers and specialists. We are happy to check our backroom stock for wanted items and also offer a request service. Our themed windows are usually changed every two weeks, with our December Christmas displays offering a diverse and unusual range of gift ideas.

We welcome your donations, which can be brought to the rear of the building (via the Lower Kings Road Car Park). Please contact us before bringing large quantities to discuss arrangements.
