Algonquin Indian Tales collected by Egerton R Young 1903 publ Charles H Kelly illustrated in b&w

£20.00

Product description

Publisher: Charles H. Kelly, London, 1903. Hardback, 258 pages, black and white full page illustrations. No dustjacket. Pictorial cover, in green cloth boards with black titling to spine and front and red and black illustration to front and spine, is in decent condition commensurate with age with some bumping to spine extremities, some light edge wear, very light fraying to edge of spine and some light spots to top of front and rear covers. Internally, the book is fair to good commensurate with age with tanning throughout, a pen inscription (dated Christmas 1908) on front endpaper and binding starting to split at title page, at page 33, 49 and page 97, although binding is still reasonably tight throughout. There is a cellotape repair to front endpaper spine joint and similar at page 49. The many full page b&w illustrations are in good condition with the exception of that at page 49 which is somewhat creased and worn and part detached. Lovely black and white decorations at the start of each chapter. Overall, a decent and honest copy of this rare and fascinating book
