Autobiography of Hector Berlioz

£35.00

Product description

This two-volume Autobiography of Hector Berlioz was translated by Rachel Scott Russell Holmes and Eleanor Holmes and published by Macmillan in 1884.

The great 19th century French composer Hector Berlioz holds a unique place in musical history. Far ahead of his time, he was one of the most original of great composers, but also an innovator as a practical musician, and a writer and critic whose literary achievement is hardly less significant than his musical output. Few musicians have ever excelled in all these different fields at once.

In good used condition commensurate with age. Bound in brown buckram, there is some wear to the head and tail of the spine, corners are slightly bumped and minor marks to spine and boards. The text block has some soiling to the head but is otherwise sound.
