This book is in very good condition with over 190 illustrations 93 of which are in colour. This book is not just about fashion but also about a family. Johnson born in 1738 compiled this album of the clothes bought by and for her. This superb colour reproductions of more than 90 pages of the album, the fabrics as fresh and brilliant as they were in the 18th century. In addition, the book includes a complete transcription of George Thomson's account book, detailing not just his expenditure on clothes, but on entertaining, horses and travel, pistols and parchment and the poor .

Condition: Dust Jacket shows minor signs of wear to the top and bottom edges as you would expect. The only mark is on the free end paper which has a slight crease at the corner. Interior pages are crisp and clean with a tight binding.
