The title page notes ' Cactus Culture For Amateurs Being Descriptions of the Various Cactuses Grown in this Country with Full and Practical Instructions for Their Successful Cultivation.' The author was Assistant Curator of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. The volume is illustrated throughout.

The book has no dust jacket. It is slightly cocked. The boards have some creases to the edges and the top and base of the spine have been crushed. The top of the spine has a mark over the title. Internally all pages are present. At the back the hinge has started to detach from the pages. There is some spotting especially to the end pages both front and back. Given its age the volume is in good condition.
