Alice Meynell's refined poetry was admired by Ruskin, and she was often to write for some of the top periodicals of the day, such as The Spectator, The Magazine of Art, and The National Observer. BOOK CONDITION : Good : slight denting to far corner tips of covers but no apparent bumping; cloth is toned at spine and around far edges of covers; gilding at spine intact; gilding to front cover intact and with virtually no wear, and bright; minor unevenness of colour to cloth at covers; first blank page has 1909 inscription; apart from minor lean to far top corners of pages and some mild toning, the inside pages are in excellent condition; slight cracking to binding at page 80/81 but nothing loose and elsewhere binding secure and sound.
