Conquest: A Magazine of Modern Endeavour Volume I 1919-1920

£9.99

Product description

This delightful book, covering subjects in Science, Invention, Industry, was published by The Wireless Press circa 1919. It is volume I November 1919 to October 1920. It is a vast encyclopaedia covering an array of subjects from Aerial Photography to The Zorille ... It has black and white illustrations and photographs throughout. Equally charming are the advertisements of the time for 'Tonic Nerve Food', Vikwik Liniment and Daniels' Incandescent Oil Table Lamp (saves your gas bill). The book is in very good condition though displays foxing to outside edge of pages. Internally, though, pages are very good and generally free from markings, aside from light foxing here and there. The full title page bears the name of a previous owner (in ink). The hardback cloth cover shows some signs of wear and tear in terms of: bumping and ripping to corners. Fraying to spine of cloth (but not loosening of pages from it). A really great book for collectors or those looking for a unique piece of social history.
