C.S. Lewis : Essay Collection & Other Short Pieces

£60.00

Product description

This book has an unclipped dust jacket, which has some light creasing and a 1cm tear at the bottom of the front of the dust jacket. The front flap of the dust jacket also has some creasing. The inside of the book is tight and clean, apart from one of two light marks on the page edges. 3 of the pages are lightly creased at the very edge of the bottom corner, and there is some very light tanning on pages near the side edges, but overall the book is in very good condition.

This is an extensive collection of short essays and other pieces by C.S. Lewis brought together in one volume for the first time. As well as his many books, letters and poems, C.S. Lewis also wrote a great number of essays and shorter pieces on various subjects. He wrote extensively on Christian theology and the defence of faith, but also on various ethical issues and on the nature of literature and story-telling. In the ESSAY COLLECTION we find a treasure trove of Lewis's reflections on diverse topics.

The book is divided into sections on "The Search for God", "Aspects of Faith", " The Christian in the World", "The Church", "English and Literature", "The Art of Writing and the Gifts of Writers" (including essays on The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, Rider Haggard, George Orwell and Dorothy L. Sayers), "Education and History", "Philosophical Thoughts", "Some Everyday Thoughts", "Letters" and "Short Stories"
