Devereux, A Tale - Vol. III (1829)

£19.99

Product description

Possible First Edition. 1829 published by Henry Colburn. Half-leather binding with marbled boards, gilt decorated spine with raised bands. Errata slip inserted at the end of the text, referring to errors on pages 146 & 167.

Devereux was Edward Bulwer-Lytton's eighth novel, written the year after 'Pelham'. Edward George Earle Lytton Bulwer-Lytton, 1st Baron Lytton PC (1803 – 1873), was an English novelist, poet, playwright, and politician. He was immensely popular with the reading public and wrote a stream of bestselling novels which earned him a considerable fortune.

Some rubbing wear and bumping to the cover, with a split to the binding along the title page. The binding is still holding together and is generally sound. There is a large closed tear on the title and following page (see images 3 & 4). The text is pretty clean and unmarked with just a few infrequent foxing spots.

Please note this is Volume 3 only.
