Cover, in black cloth boards with gilt titling and decorations to front and spine, is in very good condition for its age with just minor bumping to corners and spine extremities and very slight shelfwear to bottom edges. Internally the book is in good condition commensurate with age, with firm binding, no creases or inscriptions and generally clean and bright text pages and illustrations. Some foxing spots to title page, frontispiece and half title pages and here and there throughout the book. Frontispiece tissue guard is partially detached. Overall, a very presentable and tight copy of a lovely book with the wonderful illustrations of Frank C Pape.
