Bookplate inside cover dated Good Friday 1887. Lindal and Marton Church Sunday School L.Owen Lewis, Vicar. No other inscriptions. A good copy in red lettered and decorated in gilt and black with a gilt picture of Rameses on the spine. Some wear to spine ends and board tips. 204 pages. Described as "an account of the most famous Caves and Cave-temples in the world, in which the researches of modern antiquaries have discovered the remains of a prehistoric age." This book has no breaks in the binding so the quality of a stitched binding also adds to the charm of this copy.
