Female Life in Prison by a Prison Matron Vol II publ 1862 Hurst and Blackett brown embossed leather cover gilt titling

£20.00

Product description

Publisher: Hurst and Blackett, Publishers, London, 1862. Hardback, 299 pages plus a number of publisher adverts. Volume II only. The brown embossed leather cover, with gilt titling to spine, is in fair condition commensurate with age with bumping to corners and spine extremities and light shelfwear to edges. Internally the book is in poor to fair condition commensurate with age - binding has split in several places and several page sections are detached, so realistically the book needs to be rebound (albeit within its original cover). Endpapers are in reasonably good condition. Pages are lightly tanned. Fascinating mid-Victorian account on an unusual subject.
