Fifty Water-Colour Drawings of Oxford

£19.99

Product description

Hardcover book showing views of Oxford in the late 19th century. Fifty postcard-style drawings which include views of many Colleges. It does not claim to be a complete picture of the city and its attractions, but to give samples of its many-sided interest and perennial charm, interleaved with brief notes. Original watercolours by W. Matthison and others. Descriptive notes by Edward C Alden and others.

Book condition aged with heavy bumping to spine and board edges. No dust jacket. Significant foxing and moderate spotting to pages throughout, but all text legible. Colour pictures in good condition, mounted on brown card inserts. No page numbering but each of the 50 drawings has an opposing page of notes, so number of pages is estimated.
