Product description

A mid-victorian edition of 'Tyrolese Scenery' containing 46 steel engravings with drawings by T Allom and letterpress descriptions by a companion of 'Hofer'. The original leather covers are rubbed but in good condition for their age with shelf wear to the leading edges and some bumping to the back board.The spine has losses to the top and bottom but the gilt titles are in good condition.There are no inscriptions. The book is foxed throughout, although the steel engravings all appear to be present and have been partially protected by translucent covering so are generally in good condition. There is a 1.5 x 16 cm piece missing from the front leading edge of the first engraving although the engraving itself is not damaged. The original map of the Tyrol is in situ at the rear of the book although again lightly foxed.Overall the book is square and the gilt page edges are in good condition.
