First edition of Pound's memoir of the French artist and sculptor who died in battle in 1915 aged 24. It appears it has a second state binding, lacking the embossed design of the first state.
Hardback book in good to very good condition. Green cloth boards with gilt lettering. Ends of spine bumped and worn, shelfwear to edges and corners, marks on boards. Fore and bottom edges of text block untrimmed. Foxing to edges of text block and title page, and occasionally elsewhere, end papers discoloured. One of photographs (plate XII) has 3cm tear at top, repaired with tape which has discoloured and has left marks on following page (p37).
