Hazlitt's Works: The Round Table, Northcote's Conversations, Characteristics (1894)

£17.99 Out Of Stock

Product description

Published in 1894 by George Bell and Sons. Edited by W. Carew Hazlitt, son of the author. Impressed stamp for Bohn's libraries on front cover and spine. Includes a list of Bohn's Library books at the rear.

Originally published in 1817 with a collaborator and friend Mr Hunt. Many of the essays were published in the 'Examiner' magazine. The contents were re organised in 1871 so as to only include those pieces (the majority) written by Hazlitt. It also includes essays that appeared under the general headings 'Northcote's Conversations' and 'Characteristics'.

There are a number of pencil notes on the title page and on the internal pages there are occasional pencil under-linings and ticks.

The cover is faded on the spine and there is wear and bumping to the corners. There is also some darkening to the end papers, the internal pages are in a good clean condition (other than the pencil marks). Binding sound.
