Full title is Heath's Book of Beauty, M.DCCC.XXXIII, with nineteen beautifully finished engravings from drawings by the first artists. Collection of poems and prose by English poet and novelist Letitia Elizabeth Landon, known by her initials and stated on the title page as L. E. L. Illustrated with nineteen tissue-guarded plates, including a vignette title page. Pagination: vi + 264 pages.

Morocco binding with gilt decoration to front and rear covers and spine, gilt lettering to spine and blind-stamped decorative borders to covers; all page edges gilt.

Good condition for a book of this considerable age: light wear to covers and spine with light bumping to cover corners revealing board material at corners, 3cm surface tear to front cover binding near bottom corner; front hinge cracked, 2cm crack to rear hinge, all pages remain intact, 6mm open tear to page 135/6 bottom corner; light soiling to endpapers and top edge of pages, binder's sticker to front pastedown endpaper, inscription to vignette title page, occasional foxing/soiling internally, but generally clean internally with clear text and illustrations throughout.

Here at the B.D.C. we source goods for stores in the Dorset, Wiltshire and Avon area, by house collections and clearances, corporate and personal donations as well as emptying numerous textile and book banks in the area. We have been awarded the "Best National Oxfam On-Line Store" for 2009/10. All of our items have been listed by volunteers who have done a fantastic job, and we are always looking for new volunteers to help us with our on-line operation. We are not open to the public.
