Histoire Populaire de la France

£85.00

Product description

This is a four part history here bound into two volumes. There is no credited author nor is there a date of publication. The text is exclusively in French. As the title suggests this is a text for the general public. There are no references or footnotes, but the text is abundantly illustrated with lithographs. The books are paginated individually. Thus Volume 1 has 416 pages and 360 illustrations, Volume 2 416 pages and 345 illustrations, Volume 3 has 432 pages and 345 illustrations and Volume 4 has 423 pages and 364 illustrations.

Publication de l'Imprimerie General hardback volumes. Typographie Lahure. Paris publication. Impressive large books with some wear to corner and to the lower end of the spine cover of Vols 3/4.. There is an owner's name on the two title pages. The binding is slightly sprung but remains functional although the initial fold of the first book is very tenuously held in place. All edges of the text blocks are in gilt.

These large books will, I am afraid, attract additional postage. Even without packing they weigh nearly 4 kg. But they are undoubtedly impressive books and the illustrations are splendid!

Oxfam Books & Music Totnes

Welcome to Totnes Oxfam Shop. Our shop is to be found in The Narrows; an historic part of Totnes town and has become a 'must visit' place for locals and visitors alike. Through the generosity of our local community, the volunteers in the shop, and the world-wide selling community of we have raised tens of thousands of pounds for Oxfam, and in the process developed a reputation for maximising the value of our donations; particularly specialist subject books and classical vinyl. We have many years of experience with online shopping, having a small and friendly group of volunteers specialising in this area, who have a reputation for excellent customer service.
