Katie Brightside

£14.99

Product description

Full title "Katie Brightside and how she made the best of everything." A book first published in 1882 and as the first of the dedications is dated 1883 this must be an example of the first edition.

Religious Tract Society hardback with no DJ. Red cloth covered boards with black and gilt illustration, lettering and design on the front and black lettering to spine. The front hinge of the spine cover is split over 3cm but is otherwise intact. There is edge wear of the boards, a little discolouration of the rear board and minimal wear of the top and bottom of the spine. Ink ownership signature on the ffep on the patterned end pages and two ink inscription on the ffep adjacent the first dated 1883. Many very nice illustrations by Robert Barnes (although some seem to be attributed to Taylor). Text surrounded by frame.

A very nice example of this book.
