Le Corbusier et P. Jeanneret - Deuxieme Serie - Editions Albert Morance 1929

£650.00

Product description

A first edition of the second series from 1929. 48 pages of text in French with 50 plates, of which some are in colour. All enclosed by blue board wraps with cloth tie.

There are four studies by Jean Badovici and Le Corbusier detailing work from 1928 and '29.

The blue board wraps have wear and have some tanning and evidence of staining. The cloth spine is ripped and partially detached. The inners have adverts for other publications. Text are in sections with numerous illustrations. There is a stamp to the front title that has bled onto the board wrap. All pages are clean and legible, tanned and have light foxing. A few have light staining that doesn't encroach onto the image. The loose plates are all in good condition although a few have a rough edge. These look like small tears and has the look of production error rather than lack of after care.

A very impressive, early package from this ground-breaking architect who inspired the way we have lived, and to some degree, on how we continue to live.
