Hardback - 1840, eighth edition.

Leather boards with gilt titles to spine in good condition overall. Rubbed in places and wear to edges and corners. Small surface piece missing (1cm x 1.5cm max) to rear. Splitting at head and foot of spine but all present. Pages edges are grubby with darker stain to bottom page edges.

Internally, darker stain to bottom page margins in varying degrees. Fold-out map has darker stains to edges and outer margins. Repaired in several places with tape and associated residue marks. Faint previous owner's name in ink to right front endpaper. Otherwise remarkably clean and well bound.

A good+ example for its age. A very tactile book that has seen alot of use which only adds to its charm. Fits perfectly into the hand and beats Bradshaw's any day of the week.
