Hardback, 231 pages plus Designer's note. No dustjacket. Cover, in green cloth with black titling to spine and black titling on a yellow and grey paste-down label, is in scruffy to fair condition with tanning/fading to spine, bumping and fraying to spine extremities, mark of removed library label to lower front, back and spine and bumping to corners and some fading and staining to front and back boards. Internally, the book is in good, firm and bright condition. Library label and stamp on front endpaper. Pages are rough cut as common at the time. Some minor foxing spots here and there and one or two marks but otherwise an honest first edition copy of an important novel by this major 20th century American author.
