Memoirs of the Life and Writings of Lord Byron

£90.00

Product description

Published in 1828 by James Robins and Co. This is an early biography of Byron together with his poems with a commentary by George Clinton. At the back of the volume there are some 20 or so pages of illustrations.

Half-leather binding with marbled boards. Unusually for a contemporary account it is very favourable to Byron calling him one of the brightest geniuses of his age.

There is an inscription on the frontispiece reading ' A W Derry 27/3/1937'.

The cover has damaged and wear, as are the first few pages. The back cover is detached. However the general text all seems to be in a good clean condition, with one or two light annotations in pencil. Overall in good condition for a book nearly 200 years old.

For anyone interested in his life or work this will be a fascinating read.
