Cover, in orange boards with green titling to front and spine, is in good condition commensurate with age, with a little bumping and fading to spine extremities and trace of fading along bottom edge. Internally the book is in good, clean and tight condition with no inscriptions, tears or marks. Title page is beautifully decorated with a design in red and brown by Duncan Grant (see photograph). The unclipped blue, white, yellow and black pictorial dustjacket designed and illustrated by Duncan Grant, is fair to good condition commensurate with age, with some tanning to the spine and edges, a half-inch closed tear to bottom edge of back, a little tearing to top edge of spine, a little tearing at bottom edge of spine (with minimal loss) and very slight 'nibbling' at corners. Overall, a very sound and clean copy of this early edition with the highly regarded and sought after Duncan Grant designed unclipped jacket and unusual illustrated title page.
