Publisher: Herbert Jenkins Limited, St James, London, 1929, 1st edition, first printing. Copyright page states 'First Printing, 1929' and no reprint history stated. Hardback, 312 pages plus 8 pages of publisher adverts. No dustjacket. Cover, in orange cloth boards with black titling and frame to front and black titling and design to spine, is in decent condition commensurate with age. Some fading and shelfwear to front, back and spine, some bumping to spine extremities and corners and a few black spots to back. Internally, the book is in good condition commensurate with age, with firm binding and no inscriptions, tears (other than very shallow tear to bottom edge of page 15) or creases. Some light tanning to pages throughout and foxing/tanning to endpapers. Some light colour 'bleed through' marks from cover on the endpapers. A couple of light marks on title page and on pages 79 to 87, 91 to 95, 126, 146, 147 and 224. Overall, an honest and tight copy of a rare first edition.
