When Oggy the hedgehog is woken from his long winter sleep by a silly kitten who tells him she was only 'exploring', he isn't very pleased. Oggy is an enterprising animal who, the year before, had followed his human family all the way from Hampstead Heath to their new home in the country, so he feels he deserves a certain amount of respect.
Tiggy, the kitten, is extrememly ignorant and doesn't knkow enough to respect anyone. Oggy, worldy-wise as a result of his travels, takes on the burden of educating her. But teaching a kitten - especially a scatterbrained animal like Tiggy - isn't as simple as he had thought, and Oggy finds, in the process, that he has something to learn himself about the ways and wiles of his fellow creatures.
This delightful story, which accurately and amusingly observes animal life, is a companion volume to The Travels of Oggy. Both books are enchantingly illustrated with line drawings by Han Helweg.
