Publisher: Hodder and Stoughton, London 1906. Hardback, 406 pages plus publisher's adverts, no dustjacket. 12 illustrations and maps. Pictorial Cover, in maroon cloth boards with gilt titling to front and spine and fawn, red and brown illustration to front and spine, is in decent condition commensurate with age, with bumping to spine extremities and a little rubbing along spine edges and beginnings of a spilt to lower 2 inches of spine edge. Internally the book is in generally decent condition commensurate with age. Some foxing throughout especially on frontispece tissue guard and title page. Inscription dated 1906 on front endpaper. Spine is splitting at front endpaper exposing webbing and as a result the half title page and frontispiece are detached (but present). Otherwise the binding is reasonably tight with no other tears or significant marks. Illustrations and maps are all in good condition.
