FIRST EDITION: Published in 1906 by Archibald Constable & Co. Cloth covered book with dark blue cover decorated with pale blue symbols in bands across the upper and lower edges of the front and spine. The titles on the spine are gilt. There are some signs of damp to the cover and the corners are bumped. A previous owner's name is stamped on the fep. The frontispiece is a full colour photograph of a Worcester porcelain jar dating from 1770, it is tissue protected. There are 48 other plates illustrating the book but they are all black and white photographs, there are also some illustrations of china marks and a table showing the marks and Monograms of the painters, decorators, and gilders at Sevres from 1753 to 1800. Internally the book is clean, bright and tightly bound. The author R L Hobson BA was an assistant in the British Museum, and author of the Catalogues of the Collections of English Porcelain and Pottery in the British Museum, and the Guide to the same.
