Product description

This book was published in 1934 by Chapman & Hall Ltd. London. This book is without a dust jacket. The boards are a quarter binding with the spine in a pink cloth and the boards in a beige cloth. There is only lettering on the spine, this is the title, author and publisher of the book. There is a "Boots book lovers library" sticker on the front board. The boards shows signs of use, unfortunately the cloth on the spine has split on both the front and back, the back has a split approximately 140mm long and the front has a smaller split approximately 35mm long. The corners of the boards and top and bottom of the spine have been bumped. There is some pencil marks on the front paste-down and a name from a previous owner on the front free end paper. The frontispiece is clear. The black and white photos/ sketch are all still clear. One of the photographs has been reattached using tape this is between page 144-145, this is an old repair as the tape has yellowed. There is a foldout family tree titled "Genealogical Table" this is located adjacent to page 282. The pages despite various amounts of foxing throughout the book are still bright and readable with no tears or rips. The hinge its self is tight although in some places the webbing has become visible.
