Very detailed exposition with quoted sections in the original language and english translation. 1870 Edition. Embossed cover and spine. Pages are foxed with age. Inner hinge is worn and endpaper has detatched from spine, but pages are all intact and bookblock is completely attached to spine. Top of bookblock is discoloured. Rip to top of spine. This will appeal to those interested in the theological background of the catholic church from the perspective of the nineteenth century.
