Good condition for a book of this considerable age: light bumping to cover corners and spine ends with board material exposed at rear cover top corner and 2cm closed tear to spine top end, light bowing to front cover, 13cm closed tear to cloth at front-cover-to-spine joint; cracking to front hinge, between pages 48 & 49 and page 163 and facing plate, pages 175/176 and plates facing pages 174 and 177 detached, frontispiece starting to detach, all other pages remain intact, 3cm closed surface tear to bottom edge of front pastedown endpaper, top and fore edges of pages rough-cut; dealer stickers to pastedown endpapers, occasional light foxing internally to pages, occasional ink stains to fore and bottom edge of pages, light soiling to top edge of pages, otherwise generally clean internally with clear text and illustrations throughout. Light foxing to folded map, 1 x 3.5cm and 1 x 4cm closed tears and 2cm x 19cm overall open tear to top edge of map.
