A descriptive sketch of its Ancient History, Antiquities, Legends, Picturesque Features and its Flora, being a Companion volume to 'Lower Wharfeland', this book contains over 160 illustrations depicting the remnants of Norman, Saxton, and Tudor history, and local features local and manmade. Published by John Sampson (York), John Heywood (London; Manchester). The endpapers consist of adverts for household items.
This book is in fair condition. Front cover is intact in khaki cloth hard board, with bumping to the corner. Endpapers are quite heavily discoloured, although the text is clear and readable. The spine is in poor condition and the binding is visible, although intact (see images)
