Rulers of India - Haidar Ali and Tipu Sultan and the Struggle with the Musalman Powers of the South

£125.00

Product description

Royal blue cloth covered boards with the short title in bright gilt on the front, the rear board is blank except for a white stain. The spine, which is slightly discoloured with age, has the usual book details on the spine also in gilt. There is some shelf-wear along the spine and to the corners. A previous owner has inscribed the front past-down in black ink dated 20/06/96. The paste-downs and endpapers are heavily foxed however the main text block is hardly affected.

The fold out map at the front has a small tear at the top hinge and one on the top fold both approx. 1.5cm. Two marginal notes in pencil in the index.

The binding is in good condition for a book of this age.

A previous owner has pasted-in some related newspaper articles on page 131 and the rear paste-down, the newspaper has stained the page brown; another paste-in on page 89 is clean.
