Product description

From "The Wayfarer's Library" series published by J.M. Dent, undated, but probably around the early 1900s.

No Jacket. Brown Cloth covered boards, the front is blind stamped with a small classic style Roman or Grecian bust and margins, the rear board is unadorned. The book details are at the top of the spine in gilt text, with the publisher's name blind stamped at the bottom. Very little wear, just a bit around the spine, there is a scratch on the rear board.

The binding and hinges are in very good order, the whole appearance gives the impression that the book has had little use.

The endpapers are brown with age and have double ruled margins; they are decorated with drawings of faeries and other small mythical creatures. The frontispiece features a coloured drawn profile of the author with a copy of his signature underneath. The title page is decorated with coloured drawings in a similar style to the frontispiece.

The brown ribbon place marker is still firmly attached.

There are no inscriptions and the text has no marking as far as we can see. There are very occasional signs of foxing but is not generally evident.
