This book's full title is: "Selections from the Poets; or, Passages Illustrating Peculiarities of Their Style, Pathos, or Wit". This collection includes work by Milton, Swift, Burns, Spenser, and many others. The ffep has an inscription from the author to his daughter in pen, dated 1886 (see photo). This book is abound in parchment,and has gold lettering on the cover and spine. The book's edges are uncut. Condition: the book's covers show some moderate marking, staining, shelf-wear, and corner-bumping. The edges of the book show some mild marking. The interior pages have some mild foxing and general wear in some places. The binding is generally strong but there are a few places where it has become fairly loose.
