Red cloth binding to hardcovers and spine with gilt lettering to spine and gilt decoration to front cover; bevel-edged covers; black-coated endpapers.

Good condition for a book of this considerable age: light wear to covers and spine with light bumping to cover corners and spine ends revealing board material at top corners, moderate sunning to front cover and to rear cover fore edge, slanting to spine; cracking to front and rear hinges and between pages 192 and 193, pages 7 to 10, 71 to 74, 87 to 90 and 243 to 254 starting to detach, all page remain intact, creasing to pages 69/70 and 75/76; light tanning to page edges with light soiling to top edge of pages and covers, binder's sticker to rear pastedown endpaper, author's greeting inscription to title page, occasional foxing/soiling with staining due to oxidation of stapled binding but generally clean internally with clear text throughout.

Here at the B.D.C. we source goods for stores in the Dorset, Wiltshire and Avon area, by house collections and clearances, corporate and personal donations as well as emptying numerous textile and book banks in the area. We have been awarded the "Best National Oxfam On-Line Store" for 2009/10. All of our items have been listed by volunteers who have done a fantastic job, and we are always looking for new volunteers to help us with our on-line operation. We are not open to the public.
