Product description

This volume 1 hardcover book was published by Raphael Tuck & Sons, London, 1901, with an introduction by Dr. Furnivall. It is illustrated by Harold Copping and has red cloth with embossed with gilt decoration on front covers, top edge gilt and gilt lettered on the spine.

Condition. The hardboard covers are good even though there is no dust jacket. All corners are bumped. Spine is shelf worn head and tail. The hinge is becoming detached from the spine front and back. With 20 beautiful photography plates with tissue guards along with halftone text illustrations through-out. There is miniscule damage as one would expect of a book this old. But the interior is as bright as when new. The free end pages are clean. The top foredge still has good gilt on the top, front and bottom foredges the gilt has worn.
