Cover, in grey cloth boards with black titling and designs to spine and front and remains of colour paste down illustration to front, is in generally fair to good condition with a little bumping to spine extremities and corners, a little rubbing along spine and some light shelfwear to edges. As mentioned above, most of the paste down front cover illus is missing. Internally, the book is in generally sound and firm condition with some foxing marks here and there and a couple of brown stains to bottom of pages 66 to 68 and 113 to 121. Otherwise the text pages are generally clean and the lovely colour illustrations and the pictorial endpapers are all in good, clean condition apart from illus on p 118 which has a couple of brown spots. The hinge at front endpaper is slightly loose at the bottom and the colour frontispiece is partially detached. Pages are lightly tanned commensurate with age with heavier tanning on pages 266 and 267 due to a page from an exercise book having been folded inside the book. Overall this is a decent copy with outstanding illustrations and colour endpapers.
