Publisher: Simpkin Marshall Ltd, London, 1935. Hardback with good dustjacket, 254 pages. Subtitled 'Being the history of Scotland from the earliest period to the union of Scotland and England' . Illustrated in colour. Cover, in blue cloth boards with gilt titling to front and spine, is in good, clean condition with a little bumping to spine extremities and lower corners and a small fade mark to spine. Internally the book is in good, tight and clean condition for its age. No creases or significant marks. Small inscription dated 1935 to half-title page and slight separation at frontispiece although has not affected tightness of binding. Light foxing to title page and here and there in the book. The lovely colour illustrations are all in good condition. The dustjacket with its laid-on colour plate is in decent condition commensurate with age with a little fading to spine, bumping / shelfwear to spine extremities and a small rectangular clipped out area on spine (presumed contained price). Overall, a lovely book with wonderful colour illustrations.
