£60.00

Product description

Subtitled: ' A Standard and Complete Guide to the Technique of Modern Hairdressing, Manicure, Massage, and Beauty Culture. Half-leather binding.

Undated but appears from the styles to have been published in the early 1930s. Edited by Gilbert A Foan, with ten plates and nearly 400 illustrations in the text. This edition was speciality prepared for subscribers.

A suburb and delightful manual covering all aspects of hairdressing for women, men and children. It also includes sections on manicure, massage and beauty, with sections on business organisation. A fascinating book for anyone with an interest in fashion and hairdressing, and its history, a real collector's piece.

The editor, Gilbert Foan, was Secretary and president to various hairdressing societies, and secretary of the hairdressers' parliamentary committee.

The cover does have some rubbing wear, particularly on the corners, and is faded and marked. However the contents are in a good clean condition with a firm and sound binding.

This is a very large book, and will be dispatched by courier.
