The Bab Ballads and Songs of a Savoyard

£8.99 Out Of Stock

Product description

Published in 1920 by Macmillan.

As well as containing the authors 'Bab Ballards' this also contains the words of many of his operettas previously published under the title 'Songs of a Savoyard'. There are 350 illustrations by the author many of these were new to this combined edition first published in 1897.

Many people will be familiar with the operettas he wrote with Sullivan but his comic rhymes are well worth exploring.

There is a long dedication on the frontispiece reading: 'To my dear sister from Conrad on her 27th birthday. As she will remain 27 for an indefinite period the occasion for the gift is more than usually suitable.'
Clearly a well read copy with some wear and light rubbing on the cover and the occasional mark on the u trimmed pages themselves.
