Black leather bound book with gilt titles on the spine with bars. The corners are bumped and the edges are worn, there is a small split at the top of the hinge on the front. The page edges are all gilded. Inside the front cover a booksellers label is affixed, 'Deck Bookseller, Post Office, Bury'. The next four pages are heavily foxed as are the last six pages. On the second of the foxed pages there is an inscription in a very fair hand which reads "M: Stone Questo libro miera donato, Per mio marito amato. Il 10mo di Maggio. -1818-". The full title of this small book is 'The Book of Common Prayer, and administration of the sacraments, and other rites and ceremonies of the church according to the use of the United Church of England and Ireland. Together with the psalter of psalms of David, Pointed as they are to be sung or said in churches.' Internally the book is tightly bound, the pages are a little discoloured with age and there is a little foxing intermittently throughout.
