The Charm of Lancashire

£17.99

Product description

A 1929 first edition. The Foreword notes " In purposely discursive pages I have endeavoured to reveal the pleasant variety of a county little understood beyond its own borders, gone to the sequestered spots and romantic haunts, lingered at centres of literary and antiquarian interest, and dwelt upon those matters which constitute the attraction, but not necessarily the prime importance, of chosen places." The volume contains twenty four page illustartions from pencil drawings by Frank Greenwood.

This large hardback volume is cocked. It is without dustjacket. The blue boards are bumped at the base of the spine with some knocks and creases to the edges. The front paste down page has an inscription dated 1930. There is some foxing to the pages and page edges. Internally all pages are present. At approximately half way through the book there is a 1 1/2 inch split at the top where the pages have come apart. Given the age of the book it is in very good condition.
