FIRST EDITION: Published in 1944 by Faber & Faber this hardback book has a very faded cover, originally red now dirty pink in parts, except for the title and illustrations on the cover which are very clear and black. It is in landscape format. The spine has no title and some of the surface layers are a little worn. There is a dedication on the fep which is dated 1944. The book is illustrated with line drawings of various aircraft of the era and of earlier times. Inserted in the book are cut out photographs of other aircraft. Internally the book is clean and tightly bound but the pages are a little discoloured with age.
