The Complete Angler of Izaak Walton and Charles Cotton

£230.00

Product description

"... Extensively Embellished with Engravings on Copper and Wood, From Original Paintings And Drawings, By First-Rate Artists. To Which Are Added, An Introductory Essay; The Linnaen Arrangements Of The Various River Fish Delineated In The Work; And Illustrative Notes. Third Edition."

Quarter bound in green leather with matching corners with gilt edging. The matching green leather spine is sunned and has four raised bands edged in gilt with gilt decorations between. Boards are green/fawn marbled pattern.

No inscriptions. The frontispiece appears to have some water damage along the edges, but it is the only page affected. The binding is immaculate, being so tight that the book appears to have never been opened (there is a suggestion that it may have been re-bound at some stage be we do not have the expertise to say). To avoid affecting the binding there are few internal photographs. Overall this book is in amazing quality and would suit a collector.

If would like further information please ring the Hythe Books and Music Shop 023 80 849501 and ask for Dave or Brian, or email: oxfamshopf4045@oxfam.org.uk
