The Dispensatory of the United States of America

£40.00

Product description

Twentieth edition from 1918, published by J. B. Lippincott Company.

Thick plain yellow/brown textured cloth covered boards, similar spine but with book details in gilt set in black background.

Some shelf wear over all external surfaces, particularly the edges, but the strength and quality of the original construction means the effect is mainly superficial. The boards are generally a bit grubby.

There are no inscriptions or marks in the text as far as we can see although with 2010 pages we have not checked them all.

There is a crack in the hinge between the front board and the binding, but although loose, the connection is still sound. Overall the binding is a bit loose but there is no indication that it has failed in any place, and is probably down to the overall weight of the book, which is over 3.5 kg.
