The English Physician, Enlarged and Culpepper's English Physician, containing the Medical Part and Family Dispensatory, bound together in leather. Undated but believed to be around 1750 - 1800.
As can be seen from the photographs, the pages are in varying conditions. There are some loose pages but the majority of the binding is intact. Pages 3 to 26 have been reinforced at some time, with adhesive tape stuck around the page edges. The title page of The English Physician, Enlarged is in very poor condition and has been stuck to one of the illustration pages, The majority of the pages are in good condition, although they are marked, but none of the text is obscured.
There are two blank pages where notes have been added.
There are five Plates of Anatomy for the Dispensatory - which show the Arteries, Nerves and Bones of the Human Body, the Blood Vessels of the Liver, etc. and the Human Heart. These plates are all present.
The rear pages contain coloured illustrations of plants referenced in the book. As stated above, it appears that one of these pages has been used to repair the title page of The English Physician, Enlarged.
