The Forester volumes one and two

£45.00 Out Of Stock

Product description

Two hardbound copies of The Forester (volume one and volume two), sixth edition dating back to 1894. Both volumes are bound in bottle green material. The spines are bound in leather with gold lettering. In the case of volume one the top of the spine is partly missing and is cracked at the top and bottom. Volume two has an intact spine, showing some wear. The corners of both volumes are bent and worn. The pages of both editions are understandably yellowed given the age of the books and there is some damage to the edges of the pages. Both volumes include lovely black and white illustrations. Both are inscribed on the title pages with a name and the date 1894. The title pages describe the volumes as a 'Practical treatise on the planting and tending of forest trees and the general management of woodland estates.' These are lovely publications for anyone interested in forestry and in antiquarian books and illustrations.
