A late Victorian reissue of this "Narrative of Excursions and Ascents [of Mont Blanc and Monte Rosa], an Account of the Origin and Phenomena of Glaciers, and an Exposition of the Physical Principles to which they are related", first published in 1860. This 1896.

Tan leather school binding with gilt borders and logo. 5-banded spine with gilt flowers and morocco title label. Slight surface marking and edgewear, gilt bright. Binding firm. Edges marbled, marbled eps. Scattered foxing and a few small marks to eps (no prize plate) and margins. Otherwise internally unmarked and very well preserved. xxvi, [2], erratum slip, 445 pp; b&w frontis plus many illus in text and 1 colour plate.
