These volumes of The Harmsworth Magazine cover the following periods: Volume 1, 1898-9; Volume 2, Feb. 1899-July 1899; Volume 3, Aug 1899- Jan.1900;
Volume 4, Feb.1900-July 1900; Volume 5, Aug 1900-Jan.1901; Volume 6, Feb.1901- July 1901.
The books are bound in light green cloth with Art Nouveau style decorative work in gilt. They are in good to very good condition commensurate with their age.
Volume 1 is notable for containing the first published appearance of Winston Churchill's first published work of fiction, "Man Overboard, an episode of the Red Sea". The story covered three pages with illustrations. pp 662 - 664.
